This interview was conducted by Russell Riley and James Strong with the then Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams in 2013 as part of the Edward M. Kennedy Oral History Project. Adams discussed obtaining a visa to the visit US, particularly the role of Jean Kennedy Smith and Alec Reid, and other support he received from the Irish American community at that time.
