This document provides an account of a meeting between the Irish delegation and members of Sinn Féin that took place on 28 July 1996. The Sinn Féin side asked for an assessment of the talks and commented on the lack of clarity on decommissioning. The Irish side emphasised on the need for a ceasefire, and asked Sinn Féin to use its influence to prevent counter-marches and other demonstrations. They also discussed the on-going dialogue between John Hume and Gerry Adams.
