Additionally, bilateral discussions took place between Ken Maginnis, a member of the UUP, and the Minister for Justice, Nora Owen, as well as between David Trimble, the leader of the UUP, and the Secretary of State, Patrick Mayhew. During the meeting between the two Governments, the Irish representatives stressed that decommissioning must be achieved through negotiations.
