This document provides an account of a meeting between the Irish delegation and members of Sinn Féin that took place on 20 July 1996. Gerry Adams stated that he had discussed the issue of the forthcoming marches in Derry and in Lower Ormeau with John Hume, and Mitchel McLaughlin argued that the residents and the three 'loyal orders' should come to an agreement in advance of the Apprentice Boys parade in Derry. Regarding the talks, Adams described the mood in republican circles regarding a ceasefire, and stated that a verbal commitment to substantive discussions in September would be valuable, even if the parties were able to go back on their commitment in September. The pages of this document are out of order; the pages numbered 4 and 5 are present at the end of the document (after the page numbered 9). A part of the text on page 4 has been hidden.
