Record of a Meeting between Peter Temple-Morris, Albert Reynolds and Dick Spring on 9 November 1993

Writing Peace: The National Archives of the UK (TNA)

Record of a chance meeting and conversation between Peter Temple-Morris, Albert Reynolds and Dick Spring. Dick Spring had been gloomy after the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis at the weekend, as he had been much criticised for his tratement of John Hume and the reference to Unionists in his principles. Albert Reynolds, in contrast, seemed optimistic. It seemed this might be to do with the Joint Declaration and that he was counting on HMG being fully on board, and there could well be issues if they were to mess the Irish around.
