John Major, the British Prime Minister, wrote a letter to Robin Eames, the Archbishop of Armagh, regarding the violence surrounding the Drumcree crisis. He expressed thanks to Eames for his own efforts to prevent further escalation of violence, and stated his resolve to move the negotiations along in order to make real progress in the Belfast talks.
