The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has issued a notice of indictment to the Chairman of the Multi-Party Talks, accusing certain participants of violating the Mitchell Principles of Non-violence, which are fundamental for participation in the talks. The DUP specifically targets the Progressive Unionist Party (PUP) and the Ulster Democratic Party (UDP) for their association with the Combined Loyalist Military Command (CLMC), which recently issued death threats against two loyalists. The DUP argues that the failure of PUP and UDP to condemn these threats, and in some cases, their endorsement of such violence, undermines the integrity of the peace process and poses a significant threat to Northern Ireland's stability. The DUP calls for the immediate expulsion of these parties from the talks unless they unequivocally renounce violence, emphasizing that allowing them to remain would set a dangerous precedent and potentially open the door for Sinn Féin/ PIRA's [sic] involvement under similar pretenses.
