David Trimble MP, in a letter dated 15 June 1996, addressed to Rt Hon John Major MP, expressed concerns about the progress of the talks related to the Northern Ireland peace process. Trimble noted that while an agreement was reached early Wednesday morning to review the agenda and procedures, the Northern Ireland Office's subsequent submission showed no changes. He emphasized that without addressing their concerns, his position would become untenable. Trimble warned that the Northern Ireland Office's inflexibility could hinder the possibility of successful progress in the upcoming meetings.
