Alliance was frustrated at the lack of agreement. The UUP asked the British Government about its parallel talks with Sinn Féin, who said these were for clarification only. The UKUP argued that the Irish Government was on the nationalist side and the British Government was not on the unionist side. The Chairman's proposal was agreed to.
