Note on 'British Constitutional Legislation', 29 March 1998

Sunday, 29 March 1998

i25834

This note urges the repeal of various pieces of British constitutional legislation concerning Northern Ireland, including the Act of Union, the Government of Ireland Act, and the Northern Ireland Constitutiona Act. It also suggests repealing provisions of other legislation, including the requirement for Northern Irish street names to be given in English. It recommends that parallel membership of Westminster (or a new Northern Irish Assembly) and the Dáil or Seanad be permitted by law.
