This document contains the rebuttal submitted by DUP in response to the submission from Alliance from 10 September 1996 alleging that the actions of its leaders during the Drumcree crisis and the participation of DUP MP Wiliam McCrea in a public rally in support of Billy Wright were in breach of the Mitchell Principles. The DUP denied the charge that its actions during the Drumcree crisis constituted a breach of the Mitchell Principles. Additionally, it noted that McCrea's decision to go to court about the second issue made the matter sub-judice.
