This document contains a note from John McKervill to David Hill from 8 July 1996, which provides an account of a conversation between McKervill and Malachi Curran that took place earlier that same day. Curran told McKervill about the Labour Co-ordinating Committee's announcement, and asked him to inform Patrick Mayhew that he was preparing a paper on the history of the formation of Labour to inform Mayhew's position regarding Mark Langhammer's claim to being Labour's "nominating representative".
