The outline covers points to advance and lines to take on key issues likely to come up during Major's telephone conversation with John Bruton, Taoiseach, scheduled for 31 July 1996. Holmes provided outlines for the introduction, as well as discussions of: the multi-party negotiations; the Apprentice Boys march; negotiations between John Hume, SDLP [Social Democratic and Labour Party] leader, and Gerry Adams, SF [Sinn Féin] leader; and the proposed Special European Council.
