This document contains the rebuttal submitted by UDP in response to the Alliance submission from 10 December 1996 alleging that its refusal to condemn threats made by the CLMC against Billy Wright were in breach of the Mitchell Principles. The response also addressed the reaction of members of the DUP to the Irish and British Government's findings, denying DUP's claim that the exoneration of the UDP and PUP would make it easier for Sinn Féin to enter the talks in the absence of a permanent ceasefire.
