This document contains the statement given by the British Government on 21 January 1997 where the Government expressed concern over recent paramilitary activity by loyalist individuals. The Government spokesperson emphasized the importance of the Rules of Procedure and the Mitchell Principles to the talks process, and noted that the inclusion of the PUP and the UDP in the talks process was being assessed in accordance with these rules.
