This document contains the text of the opening statement of UDP for the launch of Strand 2. The statement calls for the settlement of 'perceived constitutional uncertainty' and existing border issues between the Republic of Ireland and the UK, and also encourages the strengthening of ties between them, especially through economic cooperation. It calls for the Anglo-Irish Agreement to be superceded, and emphasizes the consent principle.
