The DUP described the Alliance Party's submission as a mix of falsehoods and insinuations, lacking any concrete evidence to support its claims. The DUP defended its leadership and members, asserting their commitment to democracy and non-violence, particularly in the context of the Garvaghy Road residents' threats against a peaceful parade. Additionally, the DUP noted that defamatory references to Dr William McCrea, MP for Mid Ulster, have been referred to his solicitors and are considered sub-judice, thus refraining from further comment on those matters.
