The Strand One Secretariat, in a communication dated 20 February 1998, informed participants of a scheduled Strand One meeting on 23 February 1998, at 10.30 am. The meeting will address matters arising from the previous discussion on Strand One Institutional Arrangements, including requests for information on filling casual vacancies in European elected institutions and proposed committee arrangements for the National Assembly for Wales. Attached to the communication are the relevant papers and draft minutes from the meetings held on February 2 and 3, 1998. The Secretariat also noted the need for participants to submit their written submissions on the Strand One Institutional Arrangements paper by 25 February as only one party had done so by the initial deadline, hindering the synthesis of party views.
