The Ulster Unionist Party's Forum Bulletin from 28 June 1996, reports on the progress made in approving the Rules of Procedure after extensive discussions. The Rules Committee continued to work through lunch to resolve contentious issues, and a motion to reduce the number of Education Boards from five to three was rejected by the SDLP despite prior agreement by the Business Committee. All parties expressed a desire to move on to substantive discussions once procedural matters were settled. The Chairman, Mr John Gorman of the Ulster Unionist Party, faces increasing pressure from the DUP, who claim their criticisms are not sectarian, and informal talks about the chairmanship are ongoing.
